  • We'll identify change factors and according to them, alternative future scenarios. Focus will be on general trends and weak signals to gain ideas also from outside of the own expertise area. No business secrets discussed.

  • As a result, there will be an initial description of at least three future scenarios and the related change factors. They'll serve as a basis for the company's vision of their role in the alternative scenarios and their related strategy actions - the company leadership will naturally decide what to pursue.

  • Suitable mainly for people developing teams and the company but it would be good to have also operative roles and even outsiders involved.

  • Processing of the selected future scenarios by fine-tuning them and defining change indicators from the company's point of interest. Discussion of very unlikely realized situations too. Ideation of what to focus on and creation of related (rough) action plans.

WAYS OF WORKING

  • Includes inspiration and scenarios elements as above and additionally the adjustment of futures thinking into the company's ways of working. The schedule will be defined according to the needs and also the content can be customized but a preferable length would be 2-3 months. That enables efficient discussions without repetition of previous sessions, yet some 'homework' is possible without disturbing the normal work. Both of us will have 'homework'! The actual launch of the new way of working may be run as a separate project, too. Training packages can also be added as well as other support functions.

  • The result is the first round of foresight actions and related documentation. Foresight related roles and responsibilities as well as tools will be described as agreed for those involved. Integration to other processes in the company will be described.

  • Suitable especially for small and middle-sized companies; for parts of bigger companies or organizations, too.

  • Strategic foresight as a continuous activity requires systematic approach which may slip at busy times. Or the company doesn't want to fix their resources for facilitating it. So it would be good to agree checkpoints where Coenna helps in evaluation of the improvement actions or based on the agreed change factors initiates a re-evaluation of the targeted future.

  • At the checkpoints, Coenna delivers the materials and/or facilitates followup meetings. The scope depends on the service agreement.
